Mission
Welcome to Windy Hill Vines, a uniquely Nebraska homestead venue. Our family is deeply rooted in Nebraska agriculture, transforming our 5th generation homestead - first furrowed in 1873 - into a flourishing vineyard where cattle once roamed. The previous generations tilled the land to carve out the initial family farm and now the 4th and 5th generations tend the homestead improving and changing, striving to leave it better than when we took over the task. We are passionate about cultivating Nebraska-grown grapes, our mission is to create a relaxing space where visitors can enjoy the beauty overlooking the countryside, learn about viticulture and experience local Nebraska products. We strive to educate future generations in alternative agriculture, reduction of our commercial footprint, re-cycling in daily production and enjoying a true love for the land that has been so good to our family.

The Vineyard & Our Growing Process
At Windy Hill Vines, we carefully selected vines unique to our Nebraska climate. Each vine is planted and nurtured using sustainable farming practices to ensure the highest quality fruit. The ever developing Nebraska palate of today's wine drinker was a consideration in planting more of the robust body found in our Petite Pearl, Crimson Pearl, Norton and Marquette red grapes, while still offering a sweeter selection in our Frontenac Blanc and Frontenac Gris blends for newcomers creating an appreciation of wine. Most of our grapes are still very young and rooting to their new hillside soils not yet reaching maturity and adequate production levels for current tastings, similar to our transforming homestead. Stay tuned as our site, buildings and vineyard develop in the months to come.
